Protection of program S7-1200 by serie number

Automa Posts: 32 Rating: (0)	I want to protect my program from being copied, but gives the customer permission to download program to PLC. I've read in the manual under the protection of the PLC program that it is possible totie the program to the serial number of the PLC and the program can only be used for the plc. My question is will thisprevent the customer from making a copy of the program and use it for a new plant '. ? Regards Claus

Denilson Pegaia Platinum Expert Joined: 9/23/2005 Last visit: 11/4/2024 Posts: 4351 Rating: (1452)	Hi, I understaand that you talk about the block properties -> Protection: 1 - Know-How Protection: that avoid that an unalthoriseted person open the block (however the block could be copied to other project/plc) 2 - Copy protection: that avoit that an unalthoriseted personcopy the block(however the block could be read) Together, It should be enought to your propouses (it is not possible to open it, and not possible to copy it).
