Pt 100 temperature measurement

udarapriyankara Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Dear All, I'm very new to PLC subject. For the moment I know how to create project in step7 and how to configure hardware. Now I need to complete a project to read temperature values from Pt100 censor. Please let me know a how to do it, are there any documents from SIEMENS to illustrate the above requirement. UMENCHO Diamond Member Joined: 3/21/2006 Last visit: 11/1/2024 Posts: 10229 Rating: (1181)	In Siemens PLC is possible to read out directly from PT100 (no 'convertor') or using a convertor which will convert mV from Pt100 to current or voltage signal good for Siemens PLC card. (Basically this output signals is 4-20mA). Like a converter -Weidmuller If you want to read out without converter (directly) it depends from type of Siemens PLC family. In case of S7-400 that card might be6ES7 431-7KF10-0AB0SIMATIC S7-400 S7-400 Automation System Module Data) for S7-300 -6ES7331-7KF02-0AB0 (more modulesSIMATIC S7-300 S7-300 Automation System Module Data) For S7-1200 -SIMATIC S7-1200 RTD & TC Signal Modules Released for Delivery For s7-200 -EM231 RTD (S7-200 System Manual). The analog value (in case of a module that reads the PT100 directly) wil be in 1/10th of a degree. 25.5 degree is in raw value 255. So all you have to do is convert to real and devide by 10.0.
