Discuss_with_vinay Posts: 8 Rating: (0)	Hi every one i have a query about IM's we are using S5 948 PLC and now we want to migrate to S7 417 . In S5 PLC we are using 3 IM's in single rack (which is main rack of PLC) for 3 networks and now if we migrate to S7 PLC, is it possible to mount IM's in same way as before? also guide me also what addtional hardware and software chages been needed for the same Thank U

It was my first question to forum so, I bag apology from all of members as i had not explaned clear picture, we are swithching to S7 417 but but we are at the start if u give me advice which IM to be used, I will be greatfull to u. Titas Posts: 94 Rating: (15)	Hello Vinay, You can maintain same type of configuration in the S7 -400 also. In that case replace the IM308C module with CP443-5 card which will directly connect to the IM module. If you use 3nos ofCP 443card thensame configuration will be maintained. Please confirm we will do the entire migration or you want to upload that to somebody. Regards ;-TITAS

Please guide me for the same.

Please guide me for the same. Hello Vinay; Please describe in detail what you intend to do in your project. I suggest you give us a list of all modules in your S5 racks, with the corresponding S7 modules you would like to use in the converted project. From what I have read in your most recent post, I would understand that you wish to re-use the S5 IMs with the S7 CPU. Did I understand you correctly? Or are you looking for a way to keeo your remote S5 racks with the S7 CPU? Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier

But we are actually replacing whole S5 to S7 and as we got replacement of most of the things but we have 3 IM's (2 for drives and 1 for ET station) as shown in picture attached in previous discussion we r not able to find the replacement of the same. These r IM308 and they r installed in the same rack of PLC as shown in picture. As we want same network as before so we are unable to do the same project till we have replacement of these IM's so kindly suggest me what to do?
