question about COMPROFIBUS V5.1

fish Advanced Member Joined: 9/28/2007 Last visit: 2/10/2022 Posts: 47 Rating: (0)	Hi I have one question about COMPROFIBUS V5.1. I want to read IM308C program online. I use CP5511 to read. Step 1: The PC/PG Interface is CP5511(COM PROFIBUS). (picture 1) Step 2: I select the DP Master. (picture 2) Step 3: I select the IM308C address. (picture 3) Step 4: (picture 4)-->(picture 5)-->(picture 6) I very sure that I install software is OK. But,why I can not read on IM308C program? Attachment comprofibus V5.1.zip (76 Downloads)

Run through the proposed diagnostics. You should also be able to detect available devices on Profibus. You assume that the IM308C has address 1. But may be it is not so?

Also if you have Step 7 you can use "Acessible Nodes" what adress the Master has and the Baud Rate. The other method is to remove the Flash Card or Eprom from the 308C and read its contents direct. Regards

Do you also have Step7 installed on the OS where your COM PB is installed? If so, it could explain the problem you are having (the two clash with regards to the Set PG/PC interface). I always run Com Profibus from a seperatepartition (with its own Windows OS) to avoid conflicts between the "legacy" applications and the current Siemens programmign tools. 2.) What Windows OS are you using (i.e. if its XP you are out of luck)? Have a look at these two FAQ's for more info on compatibilty Compatibility of COM PROFIBUS versions with Windows operating systems Applicable PROFIBUS CPs for the application ONLINE-Functions in COM PROFIBUS I hope this helps Cheers Fritz
