Questions regarding TIA

Gujaa Posts: 75 Rating: (0)	Hello, Long time I have worked with SIMATIC Step7 manager. Now I need start working with TIA portal. I'm interesting about that which version of TIA portal is for my need. All backups from PLCs are made in TIA portal v14 and v15. I don't need now WINCC, I only need Step7. 1) Is possible with higher version open projects made in lower version? If i buy tia portal licence v16 is possible opening projects v14 or v15? 2) What does mean service pack? What function is? 3) What's difference between Step7 basic and professional? 4) How to get siemens v90 drives library in TIA portal? Please give me some basic instructions. Thanks! Best regards. 1) yes if the project is Version V13 SP1 or higher, then you can open and update it to newer version 2) servicepack meands bugfixes and new functions 3) basic is for S7-1200 only, professional is for S7-1200/S7-1500/S7-300/S7-400 4) you must install HSP185 then V90 can be configured in TIA Regards Cristoph

Contact Siemens Sales department next you or use SIEMENS MALL if you registered there.

Latest version is V16 and you can buy from your local Siemens distributor. When you install TIA Portal, then you will have TIA Portal. You can check the minimum requirements from Google: Delivery release TIA Portal v16

Gujaa Posts: 75 Rating: (0)	Thank you all! Also, I got information from other source. If I open project made in TIA v15 via TIA v.16, TIA16 will automatically convert project to v.16. (Of course need to install HSPs before). But I could have problems with TM counters and cards. Is that right? Is possible same scenario if I want open project made in TIA14 via TIA 15? And project made in 14 via version 16? Please explain this situations. And is possible some simmiliar problems? Regards.

V14 opened in V15 , same procedure V14 open in V16 , same procedure regards christoph
