Quick approach for HW of S7-300 Redundancy

Pouya_PCS Posts: 69 Rating: (0)	I want to have software redundancy in S7-300. It means that I have2x315-2DP whichwill connect toone or more ET200M (IM153-2). However, when I wanted to config HW, I encountered a problem. I cannot use SimaticH station since H is just forS7-400. If Iuse Simatic 300 StationI cannotinsertthe second PLC. It says that PLCcan be put in Rack0. As a result, How should Iconnect two profibus cable of IM 153-2when I am using S7-300?

Here is a link to the manual of SWR: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/1137637 Search for SWR or S7-300R using the search box at the right and you will find many threads from users setting SWR up. Pouya_PCS Posts: 69 Rating: (0)	I checked the manual and according to this manual I should do parallel hardware configuration. In fact, two similar station, two similar plc, .... . Finally it says that I should connect each profibus to IM-153-2 in each station. I always thought that IM 153-2 is one module that has two profibus port. Conversely, the manual says that it is two module that each has one profibus port! Am I right? Do we have both IM153-2??

The following Application manual, even if it discusses redundant ET 200M nodes for PCS 7, can be used for explanations of the use of redundant ET 200M inSWR: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/28430682 You will find illustrations of the connection of redundant CPUs over Profibus (on the integrated DPinterfaces) with dual IM 153-2s + active bus modules, in order to setup redundant I/Os. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier Edit: By the way, the manual doies not require exact duplicate CPU racks and I/Os for SWR. Only those units that will be required for redundancy must be duplicated or made redundant. You can have "single-sided" I/Os or CPs, that will not be transfered by the redundant function blocks. D.C.
