Hello,

pls look, your question doesn't include needed infos about type of connection, HW and also SW version. I expect that you understand what type of communication you want implement between PLC and PC application. From this your info you can get another infos, also you can start search lot of topics here on forum.

so you want to use an absolute access (non optimized DBs) or a  symbolic access?

I have used VB6 with communications to/from 300 and 400 CPUs.  VB was great because I could develop any executable and run it on any computer I had.  But unfortunately, I have not used it with 1200. 

For the 300 and 400, I used AG_SEND and AG_RECV to send/receive UDP messages over a configured connection (from a CP).  For the VB side, I used the MSWINSCK control to get the data from the PLC.  There was a lot of overhead to process the data but it worked quite well. 

Perhaps the TSEND(_C) and TRECV(_C) functions in the 1200 can do it for you.  Sending the data is obviously the easy part.  If you can get VB6 to receive the packet, you should be in good shape.

as I said before, first important info about connection type still missing (serial or ethernet connection, user defined, Modbus, ...). After answering this, next conversation can continue.
