Read registers in PLC

Dear Sir,

I want to communicate wincc for fetch data modbus TCP gateway but in wincc the configuration i have to select address area(4x holding register / %MW or 3x input registers /%IW or 6x Extended memory).

My device sends data at holding register like 40001 so how access that data in wincc.

When i select holding register with given address it shows address error.

I have been trying to do the same. I am trying to communicate with a Modicom PLC and trying to read %MW1 and %MW2 registers in the PLC using Modbus/TCP port. I have no problems with the connection between WinCC and PLC, but I can't not get the values in the adresses %MW1 and %MW2. I don't know why, I think is something related with the addressing in WinCC in the holding registesr.  (I have puted 3x400001 for %MW1 and 3x400002 for %MW2 without any success). It reads some value, but It's not the right value. Also I have changed the values in %MW1 and %MW2 and they doesn't change at all in WinCC, so the addressing is not right.
