Read/Write Table on MySql or MSSql DB from Comfort HMI

Hello everybody, 

I always use to read/write tags or what the customer wants from .csv files, by Script. 

Now, a new customer asked my to read/write in a Mysql or MSSql DB , is this possible By VBScript with an Comfort HMI ? 

I also read somewhere that  the PLC can also read and write into a DB , but I'm a bit shy about this

I dont think its durable..

Use sql blocks in plc.

1. I can verify that you can't connect to a SQL database from a classic Comfort panel (e.g. TP700).

2. It is possible with a Unified Comfort panel (e.g. MTP700), but please consider resource constraints as described here under "Access to MS SQL databases and SQLite databases": https://support.industry.siemens.com/cs/mdm/109813308?c=161750456971

I have used this for several projects, including high volume data streaming.  It works, but you have to implement a work-around in regard to detecting connection failures (I'll post about this if I get time).  I have received a response from Siemens that they plan to continue supporting this application example as new TIA versions are released.

Reading data from the database using these blocks can be tricky (I've never got it to work).  Writing and processing the write-response is okay.  How big is your INSERT string?  There are limitations for the size of the command string.  I implemented a modification to this block that allows command strings up to 2000 in length.

The project is still in its initial part, so I don't have a DB with an insert string yet... I was considering using a TP700 just because it's based on a VB (limited, I know), and I could use scripts. However, if possible, I could try to use the project with the PLC you were talking about, can you please send me the link?
