Reading MAC address

Hi experts,

We´re trying to associate an FB to our machine. Actually we found very useful the following document.

The problem is that we don´t know how to read the MAC address of the CP (manufacturing) in real time. This is essential for the PLCs where the serial number cannot be read.

Could you please send me more info related to this topic ? Or at least tell me if it´s possible ? C

Cause i cannot find anything in manuals.

I alsofound that one can read the serial number of a memory card (in several versions). But that can be done only with S7-300s (where the serial number can be read).

What i´m actually looking for is an alternative for the S7-400s where the serial number cannot be read.Maybe the right question in this case should be:
- Which methods do we haveif we try to link an FB to a machine ? Is it possible to link an FB to amachine in every PLC model ?
