Incremental encoders loose the position when they are switched off. A synchronization movement is required after mower on im most applications. |

Thanks a lot miami, that's a lot of help! With my application it would probably be best to use an absolute encoder as the system will be switched off periodically and we need to know the position upon the next power-on state. In terms of connections to the S7-1200, am I correct in thinking that a sensor that is supplied with flying leads is sufficient for HSC input? I guess I would connect each lead/wire into the PLC and use the PLCs HSC function? Finally what is "TM Count" and "TM Posinput" please? Apologies I'm not familiar with these terms. Thanks |

"TM Count" and "TM Posinput" are module to read in encoders in a ET 200SP station: 6ES7138-6BA00-0BA0 ET 200SP, TM Posinput 1 6ES7138-6AA00-0BA0 ET 200SP, TM Count 1x24V |
