Hello p'abs; Do you mean:"Is it possible to have a redundant system based on 3 processors in Siemens' world?" There are some non-Siemens redundant systems that are based on 3 processors, they are generally referd to as "Triple Modular Redundant": Triconex and Honeywell offer them (amongst others), but not Siemens. HIMA even proposes a Quad Modular Redundancy (QMR) system. But not Siemens. Here are a few discussions that cover the subject (you will find a lot more on the web) and a presentation of Siemens' FMR system as a redundancy solution: Discussions on the TMR issue from the Siemens A&D forum: /tf/WW/en/Posts/66961 /tf/WW/en/Posts/77259 Discussion on TMR architectures (from another PLC forum): http://www.control.com/thread/1026153895 Siemens' proposedsolution: How Siemens Safety Systems FMR Architecture Competing with TMR Systems! Hope this helps,
