Redundant Modbus

ShahinM Silver Member Joined: 11/8/2005 Last visit: 6/5/2024 Posts: 335 Rating: (3)	I have a S7-300 software redundancy system.I want to add a redundant Modbus link between thissystem and another system.I want to know how can I implement it? or is there any solution for it?Can I put two one CP341 in each S7-300 system and connect each CP341 to another system?

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	Hello SM, for your application the best solution would be to use the CP 341 within the redundant DP peripheral. This would be the IM153-2 with two PROFIBUS DP Interfaces,therefore two DP Masters can be connected to the Slave at the same time. So you have the two redundantDP Masters and the Modbus node in the peripheral. If you want you can also put another CP 341 into it. That’s the solution I would think of. Best regards J_Bell

J_Bell Posts: 5822 Rating: (412)	I would put it into the redundant ET 200M Slave so you can use it form each CPU as the CPU becomes the Master CPU. Putting it into each System part may not work. We have no experience in that. Best regards J_Bell
