Hello, I want to remotely access to the two PLC S7 1500 located at Sydney. Both PLCs are connected to a server over an Ethernet bus via a managed switch (Moxa). There is an existing VPN tunnelling available from the mentioned managed switch, between Sydney and my place. I tried to ping the IP address of both PLCs and it was successful on my machine. Now the question is, how I could access to either of those PLCs? what further things should I need to do on the Server @ Sydney? Thanks ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

Hi, as the ping was possible, the first and most important basic requirement is ok. In addition to that, Port 102 must be open on any device to the cpu. Port 102 is necessary for the online connection to the CPU itself. But usually it is not possible to "find" the CPU via accessable devices, because DCP protocol/MAC-Address-Broadcast/Layer 2 is not possible via VPN in most use cases. So for the connection to the cpu, you can use the "Extended go online" Tab in TIA, also described in this FAQ. There you have to enter the known ip-address of the cpu manually. How can you use the STEP 7 Online functions even when NAT (Network Address Translation) is being used or a remote subnetwork is to be reached?regards sancruz |
