Replace im151-7 with im151-8 changes needed

birgers_ Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hi eveyone! We have a customer that would like to change the current im151-7 cpu with a one that has an ethernet interface. My plan is to fit a im151-8 instead. But here is my question. Can I just move the mmc from the im151-7 to the new im151-8 and then make a download of the new hardware config? Will the machine then keep the exact program, and will this work.

If you don't have the program, upload from old CPU, make the changes in the hardware configuration. Then place the card in new Cpu, it will ask for a overall reset follow the procedure: How do you reset a SIMATIC S7-300 CPU and MMC (default reset or overall reset)? After that you can load your new harware settings and old backuped program. Better option is to place a new card, to be on the safe side. Regards, Marcjan
