Hi experts, 

I would like to replace the old CPU controller 6ES7 512-1SK01-0AB0 with new one 6ES7 512-1SM03-0AB0. In the Siemens Mall is written that this new CPU is replacing the old module.
For this new CPU is written in spec:
V19 (FW V3.1) / V18 (FW V3.0) or higher; with older TIA Portal versions configurable as 6ES7512-1SK01-0AB0

When I try to download the project with TIA14 to the new CPU, I always get an error incompatible device found.

I can't upgrade the project to newer TIA19 version, because we have more than 10 other PLC projects in this assembly line developed with TIA14.

Is it anyway possible to ignore the error and force download to the new CPU with TIA14 ?
Can I just insert the memory card from old CPU and put it into the new one?
Is it available some other option to transfer only sw. backup to new CPU - without using TIA?

Are you certain it says "error"?

In your TIA Portal project, what Firmware version is used?

The V14 project should be configured for S7-1512 -SK01-0AB0.  Is that what you are using in your portal project?

There is an inconsistency between documentation and your user experience.
For this case it is best if you contact Siemens directly.
Speak to your distributor or use the "Support Request" link.

I didn't change the hw configuration in project, it remained 6ES7 512-1SK01-0AB0 V2.0
I can try to change it to V2.1 - this is the last one which I have in hw catalog in TIA14.
I am using TIA14 SP1 Update 10. It seems that TIA14 can't recognize new CPU for downloading.

I will try to with V2.1, if it will not work I will go with Siemens Support directly.

as you already asked, yes it is possible simply to put the old SMC into the new CPU. So you do not need to download the project at all. Maybe the new CPU will also be recognized correctly afterwars.

If the SMC is not availalable anymore, you can also transfer the program directly to an SMC via TIA and use the SMC afterwards. So you will not have any troubles with establishing an online connection.
