S110, control the position of the table (motor) with PROFIdrive?

Hi there,

I`m a complete stranger to the S110 drive but now I have to work with one on an indexing table. I have a S7-1214 PLC and I have to control a synchronous motor with internal holding brake with the help of a CU305 PROFINET.

My question is: Can I control the position of the table (motor) with PROFIdrive? How? And if I can`t, how can i control the position of it by other means? like PTO maybe? I would like to move the table to a certain degree, and maybe send the degree I want by the PROFINET communication. Or should I control the S110 with pulses? and scale the pulses to work for degrees? How can i read the degrees from the encoder?
