[quote user="ILYAZ"]I have CP 1430 with my S5 CPU. Can i connect it with S7 network directly.? Is there any special software or hardware settings involved.? I also heard that S5-S7 communication in this way is not reliable and compatibal. The link usally breaks frequently.Have You tried it yourself. Hi Ilyaz, It is depending from your hardware, the newest CP 1430 have a AUI- and a ITP-port on the same D15-plug. Older ones only have a AUI interface and need a converter to get it work for example with the Scalance X101 AUI. If you have the newest one {6GK1143-0T....} then you have to buy a crosscable with on one side a DB15 connector and on the other side a RJ45 plug {6XV1850-2SE50 TP XP Cord 15/RJ45 0.5 m, seeFAQ http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/4557639}. This cable can directly be placed on a Scalance X0005, X100, X200 or X400 series switch. The CP 1430 is working with Half Duplex and only 10Mbit/S. Between S5 and S7 is the communication very reliable, but there must be the right equipment between the two systems. One thing where must be taken care off is that a S7-connection have always 2 connections (SEND and RECV) on one TSAP, for S5 is this normal 1 connection a TSAP, but you can also give 2 connections on 1 TSAP. See the FAQ ISO Transport Connection between the SIMATIC S5 and SIMATIC S7 via Industrial Ethernet And also when you have a CP 1430 TCP the FAQ TCP connection between S5 and S7 on the S5 side |
