S5 compatible communication with CP 443-1 IT

Ihave connected CP 443-1 IT with CPU 416-3DP.I have also designed a website using S7 applets.S7Process variables are accessablefrom my website via CP443-1 IT. Now i want to monitor data from a S5 CPU using the existing system of CP 443-1 IT without using any additional S5 component. The manual forCP 443-1 IT isgives information of S5 compatable communication(picture attaced).But itis very brief.Is any direct communication is possible ? please explain what is written in the attached screen shot? how can imonitor S5 process values with my website.? Calm_down Posts: 324 Rating: (30)	Dear Ilyaz, well this simple answered, you need one of the following CP’s on S5 side: · CP 1430 · CP 1430 TCP With these CP’s you can communicate to the CPU of the S5 and you can exchange Data between the S7 and the S5 PLC’s. Data received from the S5 in the S7 can be monitored over the HMI interface, no question. Best regards and good luck Calm_down.

I also heard that S5-S7 communication in this way is not reliable and compatibal.The link usally breaks frequently.Have You tried it yourself. Please give me some more details. Calm_down Posts: 324 Rating: (30)	Hi Ilyaz, I an not confirm what you said. The communication over ISO Transport is very reliable and works pretty well at the time I tried it. The main thing is that you have to be sure to use the latest version of the CP 1430 Firmware because earlier versions may have Problems with S7 anyway. As far as I remember I used Version 3.09 for the CP 1430, try to ask the Customer Support which version is the latest. [:)] As requirements you need surely a connection configured on both sides. Fetch Write only works from S5 to S7 but not the other way. Please be sure that your CP supports ISO Transport Protocol, but this is usually no Problem with S7-400, only S7-300 has such problems, as far as I know. Best regards and merry X-mas Calm_down

Hi Ilyaz, It is depending from your hardware, the newest CP 1430 have a AUI- and a ITP-port on the same D15-plug. Older ones only have a AUI interface and need a converter to get it work for example with the Scalance X101 AUI. If you have the newest one {6GK1143-0T....} then you have to buy a crosscable with on one side a DB15 connector and on the other side a RJ45 plug {6XV1850-2SE50 TP XP Cord 15/RJ45 0.5 m, seeFAQ http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/4557639}. This cable can directly be placed on a Scalance X0005, X100, X200 or X400 series switch. The CP 1430 is working with Half Duplex and only 10Mbit/S. Between S5 and S7 is the communication very reliable, but there must be the right equipment between the two systems. One thing where must be taken care off is that a S7-connection have always 2 connections (SEND and RECV) on one TSAP, for S5 is this normal 1 connection a TSAP, but you can also give 2 connections on 1 TSAP. See the FAQ ISO Transport Connection between the SIMATIC S5 and SIMATIC S7 via Industrial Ethernet And also when you have a CP 1430 TCP the FAQ TCP connection between S5 and S7 on the S5 side
