S5 CPU 100U interface via S7 PC adapter

desmul24 Posts: 378 Rating: (73)	Hi All, I have Step 5 CPU100U and I need to upload the program to my PC and I only have SIMATIC S7 Pc adapter USB 6ES7 972-0CB20-0XA0. My question is: Is it possible to interface this CPU via my S7 Pc adapter by making some wiring from PLC to S7 Pc adapter? If possible could you please forward me the pin connection diagram? Please suggest me if you have alternate means with out costing me any other adtional adapter. Apologize if I am asking silly question because I am new for S5 Thanks and regards

Apologize if I am asking silly question because I am new for S5 Thanks and regards Hello desmul24, You have to buy the Cablee for this, because on S7-300/400 CPU having MPI & DP port & on S5 there is a TTY port so both are different port So it will not work with Same cable on S5 PLC. Have a look on post S5 Cable Part number to be used for S5 155U cpu

Just want to add another solution for communicating S5 system with a USB adapters to suits modern laptops. If I have USB to TTY RS232 converter, can I connect directly to 15 pin connector? Thanks again

Hello, With Simatic PC Adpator USB only S7/M7/C7 Communication with PC is available. Please see the attachement for your reference.
