I would just add that I am using Westermo MA-21 TTY modem as an active converter. It has the same spec as the Koster box described in previous post. Maybe not the cheapest and comfortable solution, but probably the most stable and quality converter. I had few of those at my company doing nothing. They were used for printers connected to S5.
