S5 project protect

Vl@d Posts: 20 Rating: (0)	dear all, I am facing a problem on a s5-95U system. I want to protect my programm in the PLC against copying by stranger peoples. This problem is easy solved in the Step 7 by means setting password. How can I solve this problem in the Step 5? thanks in advance

Phantom75 Posts: 2661 Rating: (278)	Hi, In S5 there is no way you can prevent a back transfer since there is no password protect like in S7 CPU's. But you can protect your FB's by manipulating the header... Regards

Phantom75 Posts: 2661 Rating: (278)	Hi, Look at the attachment for example using CPU948. You need to be very proficient in STL to try this. I suggest you read thoroughly chapter 8 in the 948 manual from following link: S5-155U CPU 948 Programming Guide Unfortunately I cannot provide a cut-and-dried solution because: a) I haven't touched S5 for many years(>10) and b) I do not have S5 software and system to work on... But I remember implementing this in S5-150A/K/S/U & 110A/S. If I remember right, the way it works is, when you try to open a protected block it asks for a LIB= number and you have to enter this number right to see the code. Phantom75 Posts: 2661 Rating: (278)	Hi, Unfortunately the information about RS 101 to RS 127 is not provided in the system memory table as you can see from the attachment. How can I solve this problem in the Step 5? thanks in advance Hi, In STEP5 you could make a protection by making a empty line in your program and place on that empty line online the Hex-code of a JU. Then upload the block back toSTEP5 and the block is protected.
