No SIL requirement and there is no dangerous production according to end user declaration. Please evaluate the situation not only as a technical qualification but also for compliance with standards. Especially i would like to know the opinion of experts and other users. thanks.

If you built any new system then should you use a 1200 or 1500. Both are the newest generation of the Siemens PLC. If you use the 1500, then you have any advantages. The 1500 is for all applications possible. You can use also the ET200SP-CPUs, there have also all the features of a 1500. I use at ost of time 1500 in combination with ET200SP-stations. The S7-400 was (at some features is) the best solution for the chemical industry at critical processes. There are used the H-systems. Thats very important for critical processes (not only in the chemical industry). Otherwise is the 1500-H and the1500-R new at portfolio of Siemens and should supersede the S7-400H at teh next years. You have a "normally" and uncritical process. Of course can you use a 1500-system. Hope this dispel your concerns. regards CaOd

Can you suggest a technical document to support these explanations and show them to the customer? I looked at the support site but couldn't find it.

Might be, just my 2 cents, the list is made up prior to Redundant System of 1500 (R/H). And as far as I assume, the S7 1500 not suite for Chemical and Petrochemical is because they don't compliant within G3 coating requirement. Siemens Normal modules as per attachement showing all S7-300, S7-400, ET200M, ET200S, and ET200iSP modules are approved for implentation with high concentration of corrossive gas in compliance with ISA-S71.04 severity level G1;G2;G3. https://support.industry.siemens.com/tf//WW/en/posts/g3-classification-equipments/72308?page=0&pageSize=10 Attachment ISA compliance.pdf (308 Downloads)
