Perhaps this information is not coming to you too late, but if the project needs FW 2.6, configure it in the project as FW 2.6.  As long as the actual PLC firmware is at least 2.6.0, it will work just fine - provided the PLC hardware configuration "startup" settings allow the actual vs project to be compatible and still start up.

Hello siemens group,

The product 1518F-4 PN/Dp has purchased from siemens and in the CPU hardware, there was a latest firmware version which is 2.9.4 for CPU and 2.9.0 for Display , as per my requirement i had changed it, therefor new CPU firmware version 2.6.0 which is successfully operated, but when i tried to update Display firmware version from 2.9.0 to 2.6.0, The display suddenly not working and it stopped like some kind of PC or laptop screen hang, And i have tried all other way which is described inside  like online and offline firmware version update but it is not working and online firmware version show the Erro like "The module is not currently ready for a firmware update. Check whether the module must be connected to a power supply. If you want to update a fail-safe module, it must be in STOP mode.", I have gone through this error and it all good like power supply CPU in stop mode. Then i also tried with older version which was actually inside hardware for the first time Display firmware version 2.9.0, theoretically it should work and display again should in working mode but for practice it's not working, display is hanged and i have also tried with Latest version of TIA V17. therefore, it's little bit urgent. please try to help as soon as possible

Hi Chiraq,

like already mentioned, in general there is no need to downgrade a firmware, as these are downwards compatible.

There is also an FAQ for this topic.

So maybe its worth trying to upgrade the firmware of cpu and display again.

How do you load the project data if the version of the firmware installed in the S7-1500 CPU cannot be selected in the hardware catalog of your version of STEP 7 (TIA Portal)?
