S7-300 parts replacement

Juniorzzz Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Dear all experts, I'm a new user to Siemens PLC and my customer is existing using a set of Siemens PLC which includes 6ES7331-1KF02-0AB0, 6ES7321-1BL00-0AA0 and 6ES7322-1BL00-0AA0, now these 3 parts were found malfunctional, and they plan to replace with new unit. The question before the replacement is:- - Is there any programming require to do to existing PLC when new unit of the above parts install? - Is there any hardware configuration like Dip Switch to select? For example 1KF02 is design for so many type of input, what should we do to configure the type of input? I had deal with other brand of PLC and for these input / output module, there were just plug and play(or may be some DIP switch selection) and it's done. I'm totally new to Siemens PLC and had gone thru some manual over this site and found out the it needs some programming action for the replacement, hope I'm wrong. I really need you all expert to advise as soon as possible. Thanks in advance.

For the Analog module there are some where you have to set a switch or big black Square to set the input, you can read all about your modules in this manual: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/8859629 If you have newer modules, it could be the CPU does not regonise them and goes to stop with a SF led on. Then you have to reconfigure the hardware. I have checked your modules they are all available , so no programming needed, make sur the power supply is off before exchanging the modules and put them at the same slot as the defective modules . As the Analog Input 6ES7331-1KF02.... does not have black squares on its side. so analog settings is made only in hardware configuration.

Is that something like Manual or something? Sorry that I cannot wait to know without reading thru the manual or FAQ due to I need to feedback to customer urgently. - What do you meant by newer modules? how can I recognize the newer module compare to the existing one? - Hardware configuration is done by using any programming software? As of now, I don't have any Siemens Programming software. If it's done by programming software, where can I get the software from? FOC? What programming cable I need? - 1 more module I had missed out, 6ES7331-1KF01-0AB0 - this is an absolete module and it has replaced by 1KF02. So if when I replaced 1KF02 to 1KF02 slot, any problem or issues??? Thanks alot for anyone can help!!!

(Machine-Readable Product Designation in english) Newer modules are those with a higher number i.e. 1KF02 is newer than the 1KF01. For configuration you need the Step 7 software and a interface/cable for programming. Ask your local Siemens rep. for advice. You can ask the same time if the 1KF01 module can be replaced by the 1kf02 without changing the hardware configuration. What the manual tells: The spare parts of the SM 331-1KF02 are compatible with the SM 331-1KF01 and are configured with HSP 2067. HSP 2067 can be installed for STEP7 V5.4, SP5 and higher and is included for STEP7 V5.4, SP6 and higher I have attached document about the 1kf01. Regards, Marcjan Attachment 1kf01.pdf (212 Downloads)
