Hello zbynek; On the side of your module there are some dipswitches. Switches 1 to 7 are used to set the node address of the IM 318, by addition of the selected switches. Switch 8 (the highest) is used to select between 2 modes of communication: DP-Siemens (which is actually Sinec L2) and DP-Standard (what we know as Profibus-DP). Start by checking how this switch is placed in your module, and make sure to select DP-Standard. You will find more information in the following manual: ET 200U distributed I/O station, for startup and diagnostics of DP-Standard exchanges: http://support.automation.siemens.com/WW/view/en/1142468 Come back to us if this doesn't allow you to start exchanges with your S7-400 master over Profibus-DP. Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

Hello, I tried both positions of the Switch 8 without any success. I tried to change parameters of PROFIBUS - speed, profilewithout any success. |

Hello zbynek just a few pointersfrom my side to complement Daniels useful advise: 318-8MB11: This one can NOT be operated on an S7 as far as I'm aware. It does unfortunately NOT support the "DP-Norm" protocol and already became "unsuable" with the IM308C DP S5 Master card (see HERE for more). 318-8MB12 or 318-8MB13: Either can be used on an S7, but - as Daniel already said -switch 8 must be 1 on the 318to set it to "DP-Norm" protocol. And here area few more supporting links: Coupling ET200U DP (6ES5 318 8MB12) to an S7 master Various PROFIBUS DP-Protocols for IM 318 Different behavior with DP Siemens and DP Norm I hope this helps |
