Hello A9K; The IM 153-2 is a Profibus slave, a head station for an ET 200M system.. - Doule-click on the DP interface of the CPU (in your HWConfig editor) to make a line appear representing the Profibus network. - Open the Profibus-DP catalog to the right of the and find the IM 153-2 that matches your part number and drag this to the Profibus line you create earlier. - Give the slave a Profibus node address, start with address 3 or higher (standard procedure, 0, 1 and 2 are generally reserved for the CPU and the HMI panel). - In the catalog, in the folder where you have found the IM 53-2, you will find IO modules that match your physical layout. Drtag those you need to the IM 153-2 setup, starting at address 3 same as if you were programming your CPU. -Use the IO addresses provided by HWConfig for these IO modules so you can access them in your progam. The attached image will give you an idea of how this setup and configuration should be done; itis taken from the followingmanual; which will contain much more information on the installation and commissioning of an ET 200M station. SIMATIC Distributed I/O device ET 200M Hope this helps, Daniel Chartier |

hi, yes "Hot Swap (aka Module change during operation) is available for Profibus as well as Profinet ET200M's. For reasons only known to Siemens, you need to do GSD file basedconfiguration for a Profibus ET200M on an S7-300 (and OB83 is not supported either in that case).Have a look at"Module change during operation" - Configuration and system requirementsfor more on this. With a Profinet ET200M it is a simple tick mark in the ET200M's properties to enable Module change during operation (be it a an S7-300 or 400 as the PN I/O Controller). In either case, make sure you have all the required error OB's in your S7 to avoida CPU stop and the FAQWhich organization blocks do you have to load into the CPU to ensure that the CPU does not go into the "STOP" status when a remote I/O fails?will give you all the details on this. I hope this helps Cheers fritz " |
