S7-400H change during operation

amfirooz Posts: 26 Rating: (0)	Hello dear friends We have configured a S7-417H system with failsafe ET-200M I/Os.We need to change some Hardware and Software configuration during system operation. To resolve this, we've used hot swap I/O modules with active bus modules. But 2 problems are still remaining! 1- Can we replace modules like CPUs (or CP, Power Supply ...) without stopping the operation? How should we do it? 2- Is it possible to update the software and download it to CPUs during operation without making fault or stop the system?I thought about stop the slave CPU, download the new program on it, and then change it to run mode, after that stop the other CPU and take the same steps?But I'm afraid the discrepancy between 2 redundant CPUs will made a system fault! Eastern Posts: 557 Rating: (64)	HI It is possible: 1) you can switch off the power of one cpu & replace CP, power supply.only your redundent link will be disturb. & only redundent fault & external fault will come, but still your system will perform all the operation by using the another cpu. 2) Online program modification is possible. when you download a program in one cpu it will automaticlly update in another cpu through Redundent link. hope this will help...... regards

The Wizard Procedures will appear on your screen which needs to be followed in case if u have any PDM devices which do have a address change i.e. the adress on the transmitter is not the same as the configured in the HW Config then you will get an error when you are downloading using Redundent Mode Download Wizard.....
