Dear, I would like to know who to calculate the response time for a S7-400 H system. I looked to the S7timeb.xls file but couldn't find any cpu-to-cpu configuration which represents the S7-400H system ( redundancy). Thanks in advance, E. Yilmaz Attachments7ftimeb.zip (408 Downloads) |

Hello Eyup.Yilmaz just to avoid confusion, please be aware of the following: There aretwo kinds of Safety Systems available for S7's, one is called "Distributed Safety", the other one is "S7 F Systems". While both have commonalities they also have some important differences, all of which are best explained in chapter 1 of the Safety Engineering in Simatic S7 Manual(attached is the most important table from page 22 of this manual). Your original question relates to "S7ftimeb.xls" whichinfersusage of "S7 F Systems". The explanatory pdf in your second posthowever relates to "S7fcotib.xls" which infers usage of "Distributed Safety". Please be mindful of thisto avoid reaching the wrong conclusion (e.g. calculating an incorrect response time). I hope this helps |

In the zipfile you can find a pdf where in chapter 16 (p.273) the cycle and response time is explained and also an example is given... The other image-file tell where you can let the response time calculate in Simatic Manager. Please correct me if I'm wrong :p Also made possible by dchartier E.
