However, I'm constantly surprised at things built into the box but as yet incompletely documented. The link you provided seems to indicate it is a professional TIA Portal package as it requires something like a -300 to run. It would be really nice to have the connection view automate an interface between PLCs like the CBA seems to do. I have a few future applications where that would save considerable amounts of time.

fritz Diamond Member Joined: 10/7/2005 Last visit: 3/31/2023 Posts: 2962 Rating: (1023)	Hello Gabriel de Oliveira even though CBA functionality is part of the Profinet standard and has been available in the S7 world via usage of SIMATIC iMAP for some 10years now, iMAP itself isat leastno longer supported byTIA Portal (see item 8 HERE) and there seems to be no TIA Portal version available for it yet either. Having said that, the TIA Portal Basic V11 SP2 manual doesstate that: The demand for "Communication between controllers as components within distributed systems" is implemented by "Component Based Automation" (CBA). Component Based Automation is used to create a distributed automation solution based on prefabricated components and partial solutions. That is as good as it gets though and there's nothing further about CBA in thatmanual (the same manual also contains plenty of STL programming advise which is of course superfluous as STL is not (yet) supported by S7-1200, so go figure). The TIA Portal Professional V11SP2 manual on the other hand has more info on CBA but nothing on how to create theCBA components. Confusion reigns I'm afraid to say, but I hope this helps anyhow and perhapsothers know more (in any case, please let us know shouldyou find out more).
