S7KAFAPX.EXE Error

GaZZaa Regular Member Joined: 10/22/2010 Last visit: 5/15/2024 Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	Dear All, I'm working with Step 7 V5.4 + SP5 and S7 Distributed Safety Programming V5.4 + SP4 and S7 F ConfigurationPack V5.5 + SP6 under Windows XP SP3 with the latest windows updates. While I'm working with the LAD/STL/FBD editor I get this error: S7KAFAPX.EXE - Application Error The instruction at "0x73dd11a3" referenced memory at "0x00000004". The memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program. I must close the editor and i lose all my work. This happens me 5/6 times a day. Any solutions? Thanks in advance

In the end of S7KAFAPX ERROR the solution is to re-install all Siemens software. It will takes me a lot of time. No other solution? Question: Which option takes more of your time: a) reinstallation of STEP7 b) redoing your work 5 or 6 times a day for about the next 12 weeks - if you keep on working this way? I know, everyone fears a reinstallation. But in almost every case the software works well afterwards.

I know it's quite a bit since your last post, but as I'm having trouble with the same S7 process (S7KAFAPX.EXE) I'll post here (also, I've seen there are others post with similar subject) I'm using Step7 V5.5 with some additional software (safety and so on, see file attached) When I'm editing some program (either with safety or normal editor), I'm used to do lots of copy/past between 2 versions of programs (like for similar PLCs in the same project) I've noticed that after a while, Step7 editor crashes. I wonder if it can be due to memory utilization (due to copy/paste). As when I'm building the program, I cannot save too often (you know, you have some red instructions that don't let you save your program !!!), the memory used seems to be eaten by the editor !! (I'm running Windows XP SP3, Intel Core 2 Duo, 2,2Ghz, 2Go of RAM memory) To the Siemens software developpers : please, if you read this post, can you think a way to save a program from the editor even if some instructions are still in red (like they are not correct) ; but still block the ability to upload the program to the PLC when it hasn't been saved properly, it will be greatly appreciated !!! Anyway, if someone have some clues too solve this... (and I've tried solutions of these posts : this one for an XML file for Windows registry /tf/WW/en/Posts/13854 I've alos tried to reinstall the sofware (which take me a while) Hope someone will find a solution...
