Safety Program modification & Compile & Download.

Is it possible to download safety block FC/FB without STOPing the PLC even if I change only one contact (No to NC)? 2.If I don't compile the block & download is it going to change the anything? 3.Let say, download possible, nothing STOPs, after download plant is running happily. Is it going to hurt in future after the Programmer left from the site? Is that those compile signature code is so important to run the safety PLC? CPU S7 315F-2DP.

If you change one instruction of a block, the 'Generate Safety Program'-function builds the coded part of the program. Only if the your block is consistent to the coded part, the program can be downloaded (this is checked by the signatures). Download in RUN is only possible in F-Systems. Best regards, yy1

WARNING: Deactivating Safety mode must only be done for test and commissioning purposes and additional safety measures MUST be implemented during this (see SIMATIC Industrial Software S7 Distributed Safety - configuring and programming manual for more). As you seem to implement a permanent Safety related program change in your 317-F, I'm afraid to say that you will have to do it properly (compile, download and F-CPU restart) as well a going through the usual SafetyAcceptance test procedures as outlined in the above manual (this tendsto get overlooked and people sometimes do not seem to fully appreciate the what the ramifications are whendealing with Safety relevant software and systems).
