SCL and Firmware version required

jftheoret Posts: 32 Rating: (2)	Hello, I have read the Firmware 2.2 details. It states that it is needed for SCL. I am trying to embark on the SCL way (I want to do some TCP/IP communications to a PC), but I don't have $300 (I am a student and it is a personal projetct) to blow for a 24MB card that I will use once to upgrade my CPU (I am at version 2.0.2 right now). I have done some preliminary tests, and it seems to work with my CPU. Does anybody know if/when I will hit a brick wall? Is it an absolute necessity to upgrade to 2.2 for SCL?

You can maybe get your local siemens tech support rep to visit the school and help with an upgrade to your firmware. Yeah, the firmware upgrade card is WAY TOO EXPENSIVE for what you get.

Thanks in advance for your comments / experiences I have tried a few examples (mostly IFs), downloaded it to the CPU and ran them without problems. I could even monitor the variables in the IF. Haven't tried more than that yet. Please see attached screen capture. I don't think you could brick the CPU by downloading and running SCL, though (at least I hope not!)
