Scout 4.3.1 hf12 Win 7 64 installing problem

luca66 Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	After installing scout 4.3.1.12 , during SSP 4.5 sinamics installation on Win 7 sp1 64bit, on fujitsu pc , the system remain in stand by without any operations until appear timeout error message like attacched image. The error message log is " ERROR: Function CallMkcfgdb, Timeout occured while creating config files " and installation progress does not increase but remain indefinitely waiting mode. I install everythings like administrator on local pc If i try to install only scout 4.3.12 everythings works fine but i can't install SSP 4.5 device. In attacched file installed software. ChristophD Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 5/12/2006 Last visit: 11/7/2024 Posts: 22439 Rating: (3029)	Hello, do you mean with standby that's you pc is going to sleep during the installation? Chance the powersettings of the pc and disablle standby, then install the SSP again. Regards Christoph

luca66 Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	No , the system is working and not in standby , but it remain on the installation page , the scroll bar continue to scroll from right to left and then again until appear time out error like attacched image. On compatibility of SIMOTION V4.3 SP1 HF12 pdf file i found that is compatible with Step7 5.5 sp2 HF1 but in any case i can't install ssp sinamics 4.5 and more. But until ssp sinamics 4.4 , installed during scout installation , everythings works fine. Any suggest ? Thank's Luca Attachment Installation error ssp 4.5.jpg (594 Downloads)

Why do you install the SSP seperatly? Normaly the SSP V4.5 will be installed with the Scout V4.3.1.12! Regards Christoph

luca66 Posts: 9 Rating: (0)	First time i tried to install ssp sinamics during scout installation but the system has stopped in the same situation . Then i tried to install scout without ssp and , in that way the installation has gone to the end correctly. In attacched log files Luca Attachment Logs.zip (465 Downloads)

ChristophD Grandmaster-Expert Joined: 5/12/2006 Last visit: 11/7/2024 Posts: 22439 Rating: (3029)	Hello, there is a Problem with the directorynames. open a cmd shell an type "dir /x" . now you should get 2 names or the systemdirectory "Program Files (x86)" if you get only the Name "Program Files (x86)" your system doesn't support the short names of system directorys and scout can't be installed correctly. The only solution in you case: remove all SIMATIC/SIMOTION SW from the Computer install the Software with a short directory name (f.e. c:\Siemens\Step7) new i will show on the weekend if i can found a solution for this problem but on the moment the only way ist solution "New Install" Regards Christoph

I re-generate short name on Program Files (x86) folder by use fsutil command with this sintax fsutil file setshortname "c:\Program Files (x86)" Progra~1 To do this i should boot win 7 with repairing disk created on control panel backup and restore function. Fsutil is located on D:\windows\system32 folder and you need to change path in order to use it at root address. I used repairing boot disk because if you try to use fsutil command in prompt window inside win7 the system answer " Access denied " After this i tried to install again scout and ssp 4.5 and everythings works fine to the end of installation. Thank's a lot to you Christoph for your suggest about the problem. Luca
