SIMATIC MICRO MEMORY CARD standard format

Hello,

I format my MMC card with standard windows format (I insert MMC into slot in laptop and then use quick format). Can I use this card in PLC after that format?

So I needed to insert MMC to special port on field PG and then reset with TIA portal or Simatic manager?

I cant put some siemens firmware or something to MMC to restore functionality od MMC?

Put mmc in PLC and connect PLC through simatic manager.

If you see  work memory and load memory by switching tab of diagnosis buffer.

So you clear memory card or reset it.

If you not seen work and load memory in same tab, so suggest to purchase new mmc.

Because it not restore any software as I face same issues.

I found program WinHex. For restoring MMC to siemens factory setting you need that program and .img file of your type MMC. Some people solve their problems with that but that does not work for me and I dont know why. :/

My suggestion is not to waste your time using this kind of software because nobody will guarantee you that it will work fine without any bugs. If it worked now and any fault happens in the future, you will think about this image file.

My suggestion is to follow Siemens instructions. Purchase a new MMC and it is not a very expensive item compared to the whole PLC system.
