Ayora Posts: 3 Rating: (0)	I've bought a license of SIMATIC NET IE SOFTNET-S7 Lean 2006. The package comes witha yellow diskette and2 licenses in it:lean and basis. Do I need to transfer both to my computer? What's the difference between them? Thanks in advance.

Abdelaal Posts: 76 Rating: (16)	hi Ayora, Installing SOFTNET-S7 Lean license means you will be able to use Ethernet, protocoll S7and Ethernet adapter, up to 8 connections so if you are planning to use it for sure you will need to install it. Any way yes go on and install your 2 licenses . Regards Abdelaal

By any chance isit an emergency license disk?

Can you alsogive usthe part#, (MLFB #) from the disk with Basis?

The LEAN License means that you can have up to 8 connections. if you install the Powerpack you will have a third license which is enabling the system to use 64 Connections instead of 8. One SOFTNET S7 Basic Key for PG/OP communication, i.e. communication is enabled in general. One SOFTNET S7 Lean Key for the use of 1 to 8 connections via Industrial Ethernet. One SOFTNET S7 Powerpack Key for the use more than 8 connections (9 to 64) via Industrial Ethernet. But it's better to read the description in the following FAQ: Why are multiple license keys supplied with some products of the SIMATIC NET PC software Edition 2006/2007/2008?
