Hello I have another problem, with control holding brake. When I take off controller enable signal the axis sag (move down). My settings: Activate brake control 1 immed. But the axis still moving down. Do you know, that is some special function activation or something ? I readed all documentation and nothing. Thanks ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |

I don't know what you described here in "Setting". By SOMOCOM U? However, I give you some ideas for control brake.
#1--the motor brake is a holding brake--that means it is not like your car brake--you cannot use it to reduce speed or stop motor--you must waiting motor stop then applying brake. #2--normally we don't use "take off control enable" to stop motor, but use moving command set to zero. #3--My idea to use brake --CNC axis for example. there are PLC interface signals call " Fine Position reached" --I think there must similar one in 611U, you can find in free I/O programming . When axis reach its position (you programmed position), you will get "1" logical , which can be use to active you brake. At this time control enable still there axis cannot drop as it is in posisiton control. But the moving command is zero so you can apply brake. BTW, before test, please test if you brake still good, I don't know if you already damage it. Another attention--if you have multi-moving blocks, you need program by yourself when you need to apply brake. Actually I don't use so much brake in CNC machines. even vertical axis. when machine running all axis will be held by position control. I use brake when use E-Stop, and same axis not moving so often. Welcome your idea
