Simotion Slave as a DP slave to external slave

It is possible to use Simotion as a DP slave to communicate to a third party controller, such as B&R.
The first two steps is to use a correct GSD file and set correct Profibus address in the B&R configuration software. Sound like those two steps are completed correctly.
In order for two controllers to exchange information, data passed between controllers must be configured the same way in both controllers. This data is configured by defining individual slots of information.
Simotion controller is a bit different from a usual Profibus device in a sense that the first two three slots are fixed and cannot be changed:
1. ID General
2. ID General
3. ID General

The third party configuration software does not know that. So what you need to do is to find those slots in the GSD file and place them in the appropriate order. Then you can start adding use data. I included a screen shot for reference.
Also, keep in mind that user data must be configured the same way on both ends. Each slot must be consistent or there will be no communication.
- inputs of Simotion are outputs of B&R
- is data send over as words or bytes?
- is it send over as unit or overall consistency
- length of the slot telegram must match
