Hello everyone, First of all, I would like to thank the forum for, along the years, helping Siemens machinery users, operators and everyone in general, with many solutions to the questions found along the way. I have an older lathe, which has worked flawlessly throughout the years but the other day, after we came back from vacation, upon turning it on, the X Axis motor was moving slowly as soon as the enable signal was present on the N1 card Axis 2 section, which is the axis number for the X Axis on this machine. I have a Sinumerik 810 NC and the drive system is a Simodrive 610 capable of driving 3 axis. As attachment I send a couple of pictures of both of them and the Order Number for the drive itself, I also send a photo of the motor plate. So, what happens is, when I turn the lathe on, usually I begin by doing the references of the all the axis to start working. All the axis do the reference fine but the X Axis, does not. Normally when I do this the movement is slow until it reaches the reference points but for some reason, Axis X now goes full blast in terms of speed until it comes to a halt stating error 1120 which means, I think, that the error between the position it should go and the actual position has deviated too much in less than the time defined in parameter 156. I am thinking this may be a problem in the N1 card because all the signals are there, the enables. I have made the test of disconnecting the cable which bring the nset from the NC to the Drive and with the enable, without any order of movement, the axis moves very slowly. At first I thought it was a problem with the offset so I tuned the offset pot until the motor became static. But when I try to make the axis move it goes again quickly until the error comes up again. It is not the power card since I have one that is working and I changed it and tried but the result is the same. I thought it could be the encoder of the motor and I have an equal motor with the same characteristics which I connected to both the N1 and the Power Cards and the behaviour is the same. I was thinking to do another test, can I connect the part concerning axis 3, which is working correctly, to axis 2 and try to command the axis to see if it works? I believe this should not work because of the axis parameterization on the NC Also I would like to do the battery box test and I know how to do it, but what should I expect from it, for instance I will connect the motor and encoder set I have outside of the machine and if the problem is with the drive controller N1 card what should I be seeing? A small doubt I have and I would like to know if you can help me with is, how does the Simodrive 610 hardware communicate with the Sinumerik NC? This is an analog drive and I only see the enable signals and the nset signal as interconnections between them both. I see no information from the encoder and tachometer going from the Simodrive hardware to the Sinumerik hardware. This is probably very easy to understand, but I am not getting there... Thank you very much in advance for all your inputs. I really have to make this machine work, please shed some light on this matter if you can.
