gerfmate Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	hi there i have just purchased a chevalier teach lathe with the sinumerik810d controller, having never used seimens before i am having problems getting the controller to communicate with the pc, i have it linked with the network cable and i can see the nc code on the pcu20 but iwhen it comes to executing it says i have no access rights! there must be a setting or something which i do not know about. on thers232sideihavemade2configurationsofcablingwhicharebothdb9todb9thefirstis2-3,3-2,5-5,1,4,6bridged,7,8bridged,thenihavetheotherwhichis2-3,3-2,4-6,5-5,6-4,7-8,8-7,iamnowatwitsendtryingtogetthisbleedingcommunicationsetupasthedealeriboughtitfromisnohelp, help help help, is there anysimple litreture on thiswithastraightforwardsolutiontomyproblem,pleasehelp!!!

gerfmate Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	hi there Steve thankyou for your reply , yes i am using the hmi embedded network manager, this is what is driving me nuts as i can see the nc files on the pcu20 but it is coming up with a "no access rights! " message , i have placed file and printer sharing and it is working via the workgroup but i am not too sure what settings are required, please note that this is ccu3 software version 6.4

gerfmate Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	after all the blood sweat and tears the rs232 connection is still not working, however a technician came in yesterday and within 5 minutes he discoveredtheissuewiththenetworkandthatwasthatthepcu20doesnotaccept*.ncfiletypeso youhavetosaveitasanMPFfiletypeforittoaccept,alsoyoucannothavethe-symbolbutitmustbe _ the underscore symbol to seperate characters eg. 001-002.MPF not, 001_002.MPF yes, so there is the explanation for the network problem , so there is no need to worry about the rs232 issue

gerfmate Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	hey there all you siemens sinumerik newbies like me i have discovered that if you place g291 at the begining of your code and g290attheend, that switches it from siemens mode to external mode , that is if you do not have the siemens post processor, like me, that is is as far as my discoveries has got me so far but it might be useful for some one in the same boat as i, or if anyone can elaborate, with more helpfull information or has a post processor for mastercamorwhoknowshowtomodifyone, please feel free to notify us who are in the dark, ciao

gerfmate Posts: 5 Rating: (0)	it seems i spoke too soon, i have missed something here as the g291 did not work but issued me with yet another alarm , mate when am i going to be able to use this lathe normally, what tha???!!!! any one with suggestions please help as it seems i am talking to myself here!
