SINUMERIK 840 D HARD DRIVE REPLACEMENTE

Dr Flex CNC Posts: 22 Rating: (0)	Dear members, We are trying to recover from a hard disk failure on a SINUMERIK 840 D with a MMC 102 system. We managed to get a used MMC 102 with a slightly different version but close enough to be compatible. the original version is 2.3 and the replacemente is 3.1. My question is, since we are getting a 120202 error because this used MMC came in with a different address, Is it posible to reconfigure this addresses using TIA Portal software? I have been able to go online with the system, or at least part of the system with my laptop, I was able to visualize the PLC and its contents, but I am not sure if I will be able to reconfigure communication configuration. First of all, I was looking at the documents and I see they talk about using MPI interface, but I have only been able to connect through PROFIBUS interface. I am a little bit lost. Here are a list of my system components: NCU= 6FC5247- 0AA00- 0AA0 MMC102= 6FC5210- 0DA21- 0AA0 PLC= 6ES7 314- 1AE01- 0AB0 (shows address PB=2 on TIA Portal s/w) And another "accesible device" (shows address PB=6 on TIA Portal s/w) Year 1994-1996 System has a PCMCIA card attached to NCU and there is no error shown at the NCU side. To resume my question, Is it possible to reconfigure communication address using TIA Portal? Thank you in advance. Flex PD: is it possible to include a link to my one drive album here? I hope you can search by Google for the installation manual for this system by yourself. when you find more version, Please select the oldest in the date and make sure it is for 840D Powerline #2--information you post here for NCU is NOT good, it is not NCU but NCU box the good number should be like this--6FC5357-0BB21-0AE0 this is my NCU 572.2, please check your NCU card , there is small narrow label on the NCU card #3--SINUMERIK 840D had old generation--powerline (let's call it A) and relatively new one 840D Solutionline (call it B). you system use A--powerline, the PLC system integrated is SIMATIC S7-300, programming software is SIMATIC Manager V5.6 (new, update, and discontinued ) YOU CANNOT USE "TIA Portal" #4--now this answer is more important for you , Alarm 120202 (you did not post text) I think is due to you lost communication from MMC 102 to your NCU card. if you make sure your cables is good and connectors using all good, the important thing to do is change MMC102 address , here I will post the picture which is from the manual I suggest you to download 1st things 1st is password , Siemens default SUNRISE input password in "Start-up" --then"MMC"--> Operator Panel -->setting MMC address , you can use "set to default address" NCK=13, MMC=1 , baudrate=1.5MB, save the change and re-start MMC Dr Flex CNC Picture of TIA Portal online with system.

I was using X101 but I should have used X122 please confirm. HI Don't worry , 2 ports ( x101 and x122 ) used for connecting with SIMATIC MANAGER or SIMODRIVE 611 . You must noticed to direct connections or used from back of connector ( profibus or mpi cable) that mounted on your port ! If you used from back of any connectors ( profibus or mpi cable) that mounted to your port , so that key switch on connector must be off mode . Or if possible temporary unmounted any connectors that used , for yours .

I have variuous pictures of my system that I would like to share. Hi According to I know , even next generation of siemens controller ( I mean 840dsl ) configured by SIMATIC MANAGER ! So 100% possible for that you use SIMATIC MANAGER . If you unused PG so maybe some PC ADAPTER don't working properly , because for 810D need to extra source voltage for true working ! PLZ noticed ! best regard

Hello, Yes you need to connect X122 port with PG/PC having Simatic Manager Step 7 v 5.4 with MPI cable (provided your PG/PC have CP for MPI) or else Pg/PC MPI adaptor with USB interface. With above setup, you can go on line to your new MMC & modify configuration, Please note, even after modifing configuration, you need to clear NC/PLC & restore the NC/PLC arc back up from exteranal storage device. It would solve your problem. HTH.

nulizhang Platinum Expert Joined: 10/17/2007 Last visit: 11/18/2024 Posts: 4075 Rating: (357)	Hi, Dr Flex, how about you machine/system now. can you please post updated , specially the screenshot of your MMC102, select menu in "Start Up" send picture to here, I just think your followed the old MMC102, you cable connect to X101 on NCU, if this is true, DON'T check PLC software (TIA or SIMATIC Manager) don't waste time on them--They cannot help you to configuration your "new " MMC102 --followed my instruction #4 , I took another 2 hours to find for you the manual , attched here PS: other Friends , Dr. Flex had MMC102 configuration /setting address issue. that cannot be fixed by PLC programming tool Attachment Setting_MMC103.pdf (537 Downloads)

Please allow me a couple of days to post more results since I had to be away from the machine this time. As of today, we have lost our second hard drive this week. luckily this time we were able to create a safe image, we are the search of a replacement hard disk so we can continue with the repair. I haven´t been able to find anything that says "powerline" please share a link if you have one. 2. I am on my way back to the machine, so I will make sure thiis time I get the correct NCU number. 3. Unfortunately, I don´t have SIMATIC STEP 7 installed on my laptop, I need to set that up and I will soon. 4. I don´t have access to the softkeys on the touch panei of the HMI., since there is no communication between MMC and NCU, I have read somewhere that the MMC needs to access the PCMCIA card that is found inside the NCU, in order to retrieve the data for the display. Right now there is just empty rectangles and the COMMUNICATION ERROR 120202- 5. I got the HDD back from the repair shop and I am going to try it. Hopefully we get it back up and running.
