SINUMERIK 840D

Hello,

I have to repair Emcoturn465 controlled by Sinumerik 840d.

There's alarm 2120 nck fan . WE replaced battery and fan module by new-one, 

Alarm still remains. W replaced and 2 additional fans at bottom of ncu box, alarm message still present, we check all equipment fans and every suspected replaced by  new without success.

We are assured that NCU box is maybe damaged but we are awared that shuold we make  backup.

Please someone help me with instruction , information what files I should make backup.

The lcd screen is without hdd  and probably I have to do at rs232 interface

 You are right --it always good to make back up before doing something. Back up NC archive, PLC archive is OK.--check this forum there have lots of same topic for detail step

But 840D is good for holding data for more than 2 hours--Siemens manual saying 15 min's But I tested >4 hour is sure, so 2 hours is 100% NP.

you prepare NCU box, then shut off power to replace. you will see every thing be good after you done.

If you need Fan unit with battery or NCU box, --I have some good in stock. PM me if you need any Siemens parts in the future.

But I don't have much experience in making backup. I saw your tread somewhere in this forum but 

Sinumerik its not possible to set Manufacture level password. Maybe someone changed,(is it possible to change SUNRISE password???) only its possible to setup service password.

Tell me is it possibility to solve this ???

If we cant repair, my chief will decide to buy new ncu box  and nck.

 "EVENING" is also good for back up

input it then go to "Services"--> use > to find series start up, then back up NC and PLC into 2 files. that is it.--Also I told you when you replace NCU or Fan unit, don't worry data loss , , doing it in 30 min's (I said more than2 h's) you will see everything OK after replacement

But ours 840d is older (I dont know how to see what type is it ???) and I think it don't have that

option. In meantime I do RS232 communication  and take it some files but I dont know what is NC PLC files. 

 I am so busy everyday. and I have a little confused. what is really you want to get help. I checked you even not post one picture of your m/c--please attach pic' one is good, need taking from front of operator panel , the one with display
