Sayah Posts: 2 Rating: (0)	Hi I have a sitrans probe a 12m ultrasonic transmitter for measuring levels and volumes of tanks, I powered it up, but it stucks at the initialization screen. Any idea how to solve this issue please? Sayah

SonicRanger Posts: 151 Rating: (8)	Hi Sayah, The Sitrans Probe is -as you know- a 2-wire instrument (and it's an excellent one!). It needs some current to start up. Maybe your analog card does not provide enough power, or your loop resistance is too high. I have seen this many times. By means of test, connect your Sitrans Probe directly to a 24V power supply (e.g. Sitop Power), and see if it does start up completely. When the start up phase is done, you will hear / feel the pulses on the sensor face. Good Luck, SonicRanger.

However, I still need to connect it to my data acquesition system to enable reading in my system. which is not possible as it's only 2wire sensor I used a 250 Ohm resistor in series with the sensor and it WORKS.
