SIWREX MS does NOT work reliable!

zani2 Posts: 15 Rating: (1)	Hello I used 2 siwarex MS modules with a CPU 226 ,and used default setting of it, and used its library to read it from S7-200 CPU226 (like the example given in the siemens examples and documents). RUN led of module (LED2) is continuously ON for several hours ,it means it works properly,everything is good ,but some times suddenly (after several houre of good operation) one of the modules doe not operate properly and RUN led flashes rapidly on/off! what is the problem ? what can I do? My program have no bug and works OK for several hours.

What happen wenn you connect your pc with SIWATOOL MS to the Siwarex MS? Can you receive any errorlogs from the module? I remember that i got an error, where the Run LED is flashing fast, when i got an ADC-error. But the SF-LED ist flashing then too. Whatever... your program works correctly although you get this error?

zani2 Posts: 15 Rating: (1)	hello My device works nice with SIWATOOL demo and no problem,I connect the siwarex module to CPU226 ,SF led is off(loadcell is connected) ,RUN led is on at first for several hours of operation, after some hours RUN led starts flashing and indicates that SIWAREX not scanned by CPU,SF LED is off at this state. I have 2 siwarex with 1 cpu226,other siwarex module works without problem(the first siwarex have problem) I used SIWAREX LIB given from siemens in example projects. Is it possible that that LIB is DEMO like as SIWATOOL DEMO? with siwatool DEMO we can not change SIWAREX parameters?!!Only we can read?!

Can you ensure that your siwarex lib for the first siwarex ms module is passed through properly by your user program? Because the flashing of the Run-LED can only be envoked when the subroutine SBR_microscale is not called in every cycle. (or the s7-200 is in stop) look also: link (page 7-42) 3. theres no demo version for the microscale libary 4. what happend to your user program when the Run-LED is flashing? Is the weight transfered to the cpu anyhow? do you get any errors via the errorword from the lib? Do you get some errors in step 7-micro/win regarding your s7-200 and modules (/PLC/informaton)... Sorry for that, that i cant give you a final answer, but i am not familiar with your case...

zani2 Posts: 15 Rating: (1)	Hello Thanks for your notice. CPU226 is not in stop mode at any time and LIB is in the main loop of program ,always it will be executed without any condition(Always ON). When CPU have no connection with siwarex ,the CPU reads ZERO weight from LIB. I used siemens LIB (from project examples given in siemens site),I used default siwarex setting.(no change in parameters ,because I have no siwatool full) BTW: I use 16 bit unfiltered ADC data of siwarex not the others,I convert ADC data to other units in PLC. Do you have any recommendation about solving the problem? Is SIWAREX MS reliable? Is it have any BUG report ?

Lifrasil Bronze Member Joined: 9/29/2005 Last visit: 4/26/2022 Posts: 313 Rating: (24)	Hi agian [:)] , CPU 226 is tested with up to 7 SIWAREX MS extension modules and there were never a error like you describe. generaly its reliable. but i got another idea. the siwarex ms checks if the cpu is available every 500ms. In case of a big user program with a cycle time above 500ms, exact this error can appear. you can check this with the Lib_error_bit number 9 (coming from the lib). Pleases set just a little flag when the bit is set to "on". generaly can you give me the highest cycle time of your user program? you can see it in: PLC/Information..... dont give up. we will make it [;)]

zani2 Posts: 15 Rating: (1)	hello scan times are 17ms,and first scan cycle is 230ms, I used MODBUS slave ver1 library (from Instruction LIB CD) in my project. I also used TD200 indicator in the system.

zani2 Posts: 15 Rating: (1)	I will check the 2 modules and some other tests and send result and source of program in max 2 days :-) I have to use modbus(modbus slave on CPU226)on port 0,because I use HMI software on PC that works with modbus.
