SM336 problem

arseedorf Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hi to all. I have a very serious problem. It's my first time on S7 project. True? I always worked on other systems. By the way, here below my HW configuration: Redundant CPU 414-5H AI Card SM336 (6 ch). F_Library 1.3 I am improving a Fire & Gas System. My customer need to connect to Failsafe AI Card (SM336) Smoke detectors and Heat Smoke detectors. So During test, we often were able to read Signals from instruments (ATEX), but often when we tried to connect the same instrument on the same card, we cannot read nothing. Loop appears open. So if we tried to come back on previous channel (when we read value and closed loop), loop was open and cannot read nothing till restart. So, under customer consideration, system will never stop to work. I tried to do it using REPORT SYSTEM ERROR and under TAB "CPU IN STOP" i did not select any field. I would like to fix this issue asap. Any suggest? Pls note that in the SM336 HW cfg I set up range value as 0.20 mA, because instruments work with 3.5 / 20 mA. THanks for your cooperation.

Raednabeel Posts: 96 Rating: (7)	Dear arseedorf, Indeed your description is not clear for me, but I will try to help just hints: 1. for Siemens Analog CARD, check that all minuse terminals 'M' are taking from the same minuse ( power supply minuse ) and make sure all minuse terminals are connected even if you do not use one of the input channels. 2. since your signal range from 3.5 mA to 20 mA, you need to configure the AI channels on that card to be 0 - 20 mA, and you have to know the following to do proper scaling ( 0 mA corresponds to 0 integer value on PIWxx ) ( 20 mA corresponds to 27648 integer value on PIWxx ) PIW is the analog input channel address at which you can read the result of analog to digital conversion result.

arseedorf Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hi Raednabeel, first of all tnx for ur reply. I can say that I already checked everything about hw cfg. It seems that all is configured properly. Now I would like to add you more details about that problem. I have this I/O cards on differents rack with redundant IM153-2 (connected on CpuMPI/DP via Profibus connection). So if I get that problem on 1st I/O rack, to fix it i need to reboot the rack switching off the IM153-2. when I restart IM153-2 Analog signals working correclty. The same could happen on other I/O rack, so if i want to fix the other signal I need to do the same. The other "solution" (but of course it's not a solution) I need to restart the entire PLC. I do not know if it could be an AI problem or some OB that need to be configured. If you need more information I am at your disposal. Thanks a lot Rgds.-

Since you use 0-20mA, you use the card in "standard" mode? Please check the wiring. Best regards, Wizard

arseedorf Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Wizard tnx for ur kindly answer. So I cannot set standard or Safety mode for this type of I/O card. I/O card Nr. is 6ES7-336-4GE00-0AB0. We've tested this things with connected instrument: - I/O led ch. is red (the Others are ok). - On the termination we get 24V. - To termination is connected a barrier. Input voltage on it is 24V too. - Output voltage barrier is 16V (but for us is ok because our Heat Smoke Detector is supplied with almost 13.4V) - Instrument is working. If we use a "gas tester" it works and signalling alarm. - But I/O led ch. is still red I can fix it only restarting rack (power off / on redundant IM153-2). I/O card is working on OB1 PI. CFC chart is working into OB34. I really do not understand so much about OB because it's my first time with S7. So ...Sorry for that. Tnx one time more for ur kindly support. Rgds.-

arseedorf Posts: 4 Rating: (0)	Hi to All. As first I want to say SORRY for delay , but I was out and so I did not have so much time to connect and write here. Everything is fixed. How? So this IO card type can disable a couple channel by Step7 Hw Configuration. If you desire to disable ONLY one channel, you will need to put a resistance on the channel and it will be disabled. So after that SF red led was switched off and everything is fixed! THAT'S ALL!
