Hello Pinkesh M Siemens RNA (Redundant Network Access) is PRP (Parallel Redundancy Protocol)asdescribed in the IEC 62439-3 (and only Siemens knows why they invented a new acronym for this instead of using PRP). As PRP adds 6 Bytes to the Ethernet frame though, the maximum (802.1Q VLAN tagged) Ethernet frame length of 1522 Bytes can be exceeded so the switches need to support oversized frames. Apart from Siemens switches likeRuggedcom and Scalance, ABB, Hirschmann and many many others offer these switches that support oversized frames too. If you though want to add SAN's (Single Attached Nodes) to your PRP network, you'llobviosuly need to add a switch that supports this (e.g. Scalance X204-RNA). I hope this helps |
