SQL server cannot access database

ToreK Posts: 13 Rating: (0)	Hello, I have read several threads regarding problems with SQL database when downloading a server. I have 2 different versions of the same MP (one of them is a year old copy of the master). If I retreive these to the exact same location on the ES and download the server I get message "SQL server cannot access database" with the new project and not with the old. Both projects dowload to the exact same target on the server. Therefore it cannot be the general setup of the SQL access rights on the computer or any problems with the siemens SW which I see is often recommended to be reinstalled. I have also tried just to "Open Object" for the server locally on the ES. This gives the same fault. Only works on one of the projects. I tried the "simaticrights.exe" sw and put in the path to the MP (When the MP that does not work was installed). This did not help. Any tips on how I can fix this? Bizur Posts: 1530 Rating: (59)	Hello ToreK, really a strange behaviour. Nevertheless I would suggest to check necessary rights of windows (again). Maybe somehow a knot came in from this side. After the project transfered over to the OS stuck and come back with an error. All looks OK see the attachments. I wonder what am I missing here. Advice appreciated. Cheers Hey MicroMan, I checked your screenshots in the attached zip. Did you check Simatic Shell in Windows Explorer? open Windows Explorer, rightclick on Simatic Shell and choose update. You should see both PC names. Also check that Simtic Shell is pointing to the correct network card. Do you have the same users with the same password and same rights logged on ES and OS?

ToreK Posts: 13 Rating: (0)	My problem was due to way a previous verison of the project was deleted (Only delete of the folder). The SQL database was not deleted properly and was causing problems when thenew project was retreived. A cleanup of the project in the SQL database and then a new retreive of the project solved the problem for me.

Used SimaticRught.Exe on the OS project folder. Reinstalled SQL server on OS server. Nothing so far. There is something I noticed. The user groups on the ES looks a bit different. See the attachements. Maybe that because the ES installation. Is that a problem that the ES is running on Win7 ultimate and the OS is running on Windows Server 2008 r2? Thank you for your help. Actually this OS was never up yet with anything downloaded to it. I begin to think it is something to do with SQL server database. You saidyoucleaned up the database. How did you do that? Cheers

ToreK Posts: 13 Rating: (0)	Closed all simatic Projects/SW. Opened SQL database SW and deleted all databases related to projects. Make you sure you do not have any projectsthat you do not want to mess up when deleting databases on the PC.

If I create an OS project on the OS server just works fine. If I try to download it from the ES, that is crashing. What I have found in the windows event log is that CCDBUtils.exe is failing every time Simatic Manager try to open the project on the remote server. I am stucked... Cheers
