SQL server error while opening WinCC6.2 project

Techy Posts: 86 Rating: (2)	Hello, I have installed the WinCC6.2 & it's giving following error ( MS SQLdatabase not accessible , please check the rights)every time I try to open any project. I have assigned administrative rights to WinCCHMI & SQLserver groups. Still the problem persists. Any suggestions? Thanks, Techy

Techy Posts: 86 Rating: (2)	Ikkezelf , Thanks, I did try logging in administrative mode & the problem persists. When I check the SQL2005 server configurator it shows all the server running OK. What is the name of database WinCC is trying to access?Is there any method to ping the database from outside? Will appreciate any help. Thanks, Techy

Ikkezelf Posts: 1084 Rating: (72)	HI, When you open the "SQL Enterprise Manager" you should be able to open the wincc databases. If you are for some reason not able to do so, you should get an error description. In wincc you will find an internal tag called something like "DataSourceName" in that tag you will find the wincc database name (in runtime). with regards, Ikkezelf

If you have side by side MSSQL 2000 and MSSQL 2005 you have an error if you try to open MSSQL 2005 instance with SQL Enterprise Manager (MSSQL 2000). Looks like I will have to reinstall Windows? Unless some one tells me quickly of lesser painful way out Thanks, Techy

Elvis Posts: 17 Rating: (2)	Hello everyone, I have the same error message but I thing that my problem isbecause I received the upgrade DVD of PCS7 V7.0 (with WinCC 6.2) without receiving Siemens installation CD for SQL 2005. I installed SQL form a microsoft installation but of course WinCC users were not created. How can I create an instance of SQL ready for WinCC without having siemens installation CD (if it is possible )?
