STEP 7 Basic v10.5 SP2 works in Windows 7 32bit Professional

Install without any problems, only the unofficial message system. Running software without objections, to the proper operation of TIA Automation portal shut down all security systems and security on the network card.

Running it inside a Virtual PC / XP Mode 32-bit session. That setup likes RAM, so the more you can give it, the better it will perform. Plus you get the low memory warnings less often

I remember, however, that until a official release, there is no guaranty to use the STEP 7 Basic on Windows 7. Let's follow for the moment huggy_d1' way until spring of 2011. christo Experienced Member Joined: 12/15/2009 Last visit: 2/28/2023 Posts: 5 Rating: (1)	For proper operation of Windows 7 32bit Professional, and the program STEP 7 Basic v10.5 SP2 requires a minimum of 2GB of RAM. For the smooth operation of the system and software STEP 7 Basic is good to have 4GB of RAM.

Andrew_Greece Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	Hallo I am Totaly NEW to this forum. My Greetings to all members. This is my first message and also my 2 cents regarding the TIA and WIN 7 OS. I have too manage to load the TIA PORTAL V10.5 to WIN7 PROFFESIONAL . I have managed also to make CONNECTION to PLC . I have managed to make a small LAD program and COMPILE IT - NO problem . However There is no way to DOWNLOAD program to PLC S7-1200 DC/DC/DC... I even put ip address manually and/or through PG/PC interface from control pane,... NO SUCCESS. Also I have tried from TIA PORTAL shortcut on desctop > Properties > Run as administrator > Run This program in Compatible MODE WINDOWS XP SP3... RESULTS always same... I HAVE CONNECTION but cannot DOWNLOAD or EVEN change MODE to S7-1200. Forgot to say that my S7-1200 runs a program previously loaded from a PC with OS WIN XP... The PLC runs BUT CANNOT STOP IT OR DOWNLOAD NEW PROGRAM from WIN 7 PROFESSIONAL. So my personal experience is that WIN7 run the TIA but cannot have connection...

Andrew_Greece Posts: 6 Rating: (0)	My Second Post Also have tried to work the TIA with WIN7 PROFESSIONAL running XP MODE with 1.5GB RAM - Can alter the RAM and other parameters from SETTINGS. Also for some users I would suggest to Disable Integration features in order XPMODE leave them to proceed entering the environment... In other thread I will post my message for connection problems I am facing with TIA. Thanks
