Solved my problem by using the instructions listed on this forum below, basicly DCOM was not running on my laptop...and could not be started... after re-installing MSDTC and registering the dll file "mtxoci.dll" then resetting the default properties for Distributed COMmy computer to Default Authenication = Connect and the Impersonation Level = Identify Reboot... and now the service is running and the installer is now installing SP2 here is the link to the information that solved it for me.
