there are two options for datalogging with LOGO!:

1. With a plugged in MSD-card. As Ixos descriped. In this case the data will be recorded in a datalog record on the MSD-card. After 20.000 "lines" LOGO! automatically creates a new datalog record on the MSD card (up to 50). You can only upload the active datalog record by using LOGO! Soft Comfort. Older Records on the MSD card requires to remove the card from LOGO! and "read" with a PC.

2. Using data log without a MSD card. LOGO! has a internal memory used for data log if no MSD card is plugged in. This memory can contain up to 200 "lines". The oldes value will be overwritten. It is a FIFO concept. The recorded data can be uploaded with LOGO! Soft Comfort (tools/transfer/upload datalog)

Note: Both version doesn't allow to create a limitation of numbers of "lines" as you want. 

From my understanding number 2 may be the better option for you. If you only want to record one day, then you can specify to record the data 200 times a day.
